Visit Te Rata Family Farm
We're opening the farm for you to come and have a look around, sample the atmosphere, see our day to day activities and meet all the inhabitants here. Te Rata honey and free range eggs (which you get to collect yourself - how fresh is that!) will be available to be purchased. If you're an avid gardener we can also supply bags of dry and friable chicken manure - let us know how many you want so we can put them aside beforehand. The farm will be open from 10am to 2pm. Numbers are limited so register your attendance by email. Strong clean footwear is essential. The farm visit is free of charge. Click here for photos of previous open days.
Would you like to work on our farm?Te Rata Family Farm is a part of the international Wwoofer network (Willing Workers On Organic Farms - www.wwoof.co.nz) in which volunteers interested in learning about organic farming work in return for their accommodation and food. We've had wonderful Wwoofers from all over New Zealand and the world stay with us and become part of the Te Rata family. Please contact us if you would like to know more. |
